New Abstract Art in Castlemaine

Workspace welcomes Carol Swain to its Castlemaine site. Relocating from Melbourne to Castlemaine, Carol will enhance the strong existing Art circle in the region.

Carol Swain is a Melbourne based Artist who is fascinated and drawn to the random abstract forms that she perceives within nature, disasters, abandoned building sites and the banal forms created from discarded objects on the street.

Abstract forms act as a vehicle between Carol's response to the material world around her and her connection to colour form and shape. Photographs both taken and sourced act as a conduit to memories previously hidden. These memories are further explored through the physical act of painting and continue to be a major source of inspiration.
