Workspace
Australia is a "not for profit" organisation which has
established Small Business Centres in Bendigo, Castlemaine,
Donald,
Dunolly,
Eaglehawk,
Gisborne
and Maldon.
Workspace
provides flexible workspace and business support services to new
start up or expanding small businesses. Economical rental,
low start-up costs and easy entry/exit terms and business advice
and support gives small businesses a major help along when first
establishing.
While
Workspace gains funding from all levels of Government and sponsors
to undertake capital works to renovate premises, it has to be self
funding in its day to day operations. It achieves its cash
flow to employ staff and operate premises through the collection of
licence fees.
A
PowerPoint presentation is also available.
This presentation was made at the
Business Incubation & Innovation Australia 2005 conference and
is available on their website under 2005 papers.
The presentation outlines the operation of the Network and includes
details on different centres and the tenants in those centres.

Getting
Started
Who is
eligible to join?
New
start up business or expanding businesses. Many tenants have
previously been operating from a 'home base' and needed to separate
their business from home life.
What are
the benefits of joining?
- Workspace
provides flexible workspace to new and expanding businesses.
A business may start with a very small space but later expand
into a larger space at the same centre.
- Economical
rental, with low start up costs and easy entry/exit terms, with a
secure licence agreement for up to three years. Tenants only
need to give one months notice to exit at any time.
Consideration may be given to a longer period, however, this
depends on the growth of the business.
- Sharing
facilities with other tenants (eg. forklift, photocopier,
facsimile, etc.) will reduce operating costs to your
business.
- Workspace
employs Business Support Officers to assist with any problems or
concerns you may have regarding how your business is operating.
Advice on how to maximise growth and increase client base, in
addition a qualified accountant to assist with preparation of BAS,
setting up accounts on QuickBooks or MYOB, etc.
